Our Summer Read-A-Thon to support libraries in the United States has officially begun! Here are some tips to help you make the most out of this program and help you raise as much money as you can throughout July.
Remember, the goal of this read-a-thon is to encourage your children to read at least 20 minutes per day throughout the month of July. You can record the minutes that your children have read from their reader dashboard (LINK). You can also set timers for 20 minute reading sessions if you want to help them get into the habit of reading 20 minutes a day.
If you don’t have access to your reader dashboard, look for an email from Colby@read-a-thon.com with your secret code and a link to get you started.
Your reader dashboard also has tools to help you raise as much money as you can. Remember that your prizes are based on the amount of money that you raise and we want to make it as easy as we can to raise money. So here are some tips!
- Use the Facebook book tool to put your read-a-thon in front of your friends and family or to post your child’s read-a-thon in any Facebook Groups that you might be a part of.
- Use that email tool and copy and paste email addresses from your email platform into the text box. The more emails you send, the more money you can raise!
- Finally, try out that text tool. It’s easy to use and text messages are one of the most effective fundraising tools out there! Everyone looks at their text messages!
